Encourage Independence

Money Management

Some outings require members to bring spending money for food or gifts. The experience of "checking out" can be daunting for someone who suffered a life-changing accident or illness. That is why our staff is there to support and build confidence.

The purpose of our Community Reintegration Program is to encourage independence and help our members participate to the fullest extent possible in the cultural, recreational, and social life of the community. We do this by offering community outings each semester like: bowling, going out to lunch, going to the movies and several local festivals. By participating in these activities, it allows individuals to be reintegrated back in the community, building confidence, finding purpose and a reason to enjoy life. See schedule here.

In addition, we frequently invite community groups into The Center for mini workshops, health fairs or experiences to make our members better aware of resources in the community.
